Leeto and Jules Han were married on October 16th 2014 on a beautiful Island in a little down called Port Carling, Muskoka, Ontario. My amazing assistant (Amanda Wilkins) and I drove 2 hours through colourful Muskoka landscapes to a meeting point where the groom picked us up and took us on a boat towards the cottage retreat.
Once we arrived, I knew right away it was going to be a beautiful day. At first Leeto + Jules requested to have no posed photos as this was something they we not comfortable with, I respectfully understood of course. However, upon arriving her bridesmaid/bestfriend insisted that they both do posed photos as it was once in a life time, they agreed and I was thrilled! To make them feel more comfortable in front of the camera, I suggested doing a "first look". This is where the groom waits for his bride with his back facing her until she taps him on the shoulder to turn around. They get to see eachother for the first time in more of a intimate setting and enjoy one another before the ceremony.
Soon after the first look the ceremony took place right on the deck of the cottage retreat, surrounding were all close family and friends. It was a short, but very sweet ceremony. Bride and groom both shed tears along with everyone around. I'm not going to lie, I always cry once at each of my clients weddings. I'm a sap.
Once all the formal photographs were taken, we headed back to the cottage for some good homemade cooking. Leeto and his best man own a restaurant together in downtown Toronto, so I knew right away the food was going to be amazing. The entire family worked together to cook an delicious Thanksgiving meal. My assistant and I were starving and needless to say were more then excited to dive into the turkey and stuffing. It was the best Thanksgiving meal I have ever had (sorry mom)! Before my assistant and I headed home we finished off the night with some cutting of the cake and of course a little cake fight.
Thank you to The Hans for bringing me on as your photographer to capture such beautiful memories that will be cherished forever. I wish you both the best in your marriage.
